REALTOR® Association Endorses Hughes
for 91st House District

The West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS® (WMLAR) and the Michigan Association of REALTORS® (MAR) are endorsing Holly Hughes (R-Montague) for election to the Michigan House of Representatives, District 91.  A select panel of WMLAR REALTOR® members conducted interviews with candidates for the Michigan House and concluded that Hughes is best qualified for the position.

“Holly Hughes understands the direction that state government needs to be moving toward.  Her vision has Michigan positioned for long-term economic expansion,” said Brian Klingel, Chair of the WMLAR Government Affairs Committee.

“As a State Representative, Holly would be a wonderful natural advocate for home and business owners, buyers, and sellers while protecting private property rights,” said Drew Deters, President of the WMLAR.

Interviews with the candidates were designed primarily to provide the REALTOR® membership with information as to which of the candidates for this Michigan House seat would best represent the positions of REALTORS® and in protecting private property owners’ rights.  The answers Hughes provided, combined with her solid campaign plan, earned her the support of the real estate community in her bid for the State House.  Her competitor was interviewed during this selection process.

The MAR is a professional trade association which protects the rights of private property owners while serving as the primary source for Michigan housing and real estate data.  MAR is comprised of 45 local REALTOR® associations and more than 27,000 members.  WMLAR is more than 900 members strong.  REALTORS® are real estate licensees that adhere to a strict code of ethics, established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
